Prosthodontics

From Multi Unit to AXA Transepithelial Abutment Part 1

This course delivers the core analysis and planning principles required for successful full-arch implant rehabilitations. Embracing a top-down approach, the lecture emphasizes starting every single case strictly from the prosthetic design perspective to ensure long-term clinical success.

Course Overview

Participants will explore critical diagnostic steps and prosthetic innovations through the following key topics:

1.Pre-operative Tissue Evaluation

 - Assessing soft-tissue volume and remaining bone volume.

 - Determining the required level of prosthetic tissue support.

2.Complication Management & Precision

 - Strategies for achieving true passive fit.

 - Procedures to minimize prosthetic and mechanical errors.

3.Component Comparison & Clinical Application

 - A comprehensive clinical comparison between conventional Multi-Unit abutments and the new AXA transepithelial abutment concept.

Learning Objectives

* Understanding how to properly analyze each clinical case and CBCT before full-arch surgery.

* Learning the importance of prosthetically driven planning and guiding implant placement through the final prosthetic design.

* Understanding the value of guided surgery with proper guide design and maintaining strategic teeth whenever possible to achieve tooth-supported guidance.

* Learning different techniques to improve passive fit and minimize errors, especially considering the current limitations of intraoral scanners in full-arch rehabilitations.

* Understanding the AXA concept, working without an tibase, and analyzing the causes of zirconia fractures in order to reduce mechanical complications through a standardized treatment protocol.
