Long-term implant success depends not only on osseointegration, but also on the establishment and maintenance of stable peri-implant soft tissues. This lecture introduces the concept of Surgical Soft Tissue Roadmaps, providing a systematic approach to evaluating peri-implant soft tissue conditions and selecting appropriate surgical soft tissue management strategies for different clinical situations. The lecture classifies clinical conditions according to factors such as soft tissue phenotype, keratinized tissue, and labial contour, and explains different treatment approaches for both healed sites and immediate implant sites through clinical cases. Various soft tissue augmentation procedures, including the roll flap, modified roll flap, and connective tissue graft (CTG), are also discussed to demonstrate how functional and esthetic peri-implant tissue can be established. Ultimately, the lecture presents a clinical decision-making framework aimed at achieving long-term functional stability and optimal pink esthetics with minimal and appropriate surgical intervention.

This lecture provides a comprehensive clinical guide to immediate implant placement in posterior regions, addressing the unique anatomical challenges of molar and premolar extraction sites. Starting with patient selection and indications, the presentation systematically covers the Smith & Tarnow classification of molar extraction sockets (Type A, B, and C) and the corresponding surgical strategies for each scenario—including septal bone engagement, gap management with or without bone grafting, and sinus floor elevation via osteodensification. Through detailed clinical case demonstrations, attendees will learn how to achieve predictable primary stability, manage primary wound closure, and optimize long-term restorative outcomes in posterior immediate implant cases.

This lecture reviews the clinical applications of Waterlase based on 20 years of hands-on experience. Through actual patient cases, including peri-implantitis and furcation lesions, it demonstrates the initial periodontal treatment process and discusses the criteria for selecting sapphire and zirconia tips. The lecture also focuses on various clinical applications of Waterlase, such as gingivectomy, soft tissue management around healing abutments, and treatment of oral ulcers.
